Congratulations to three of our pupils who have been performing at The Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh, and at Leeds Art Gallery this month.  Kathryn Swallow, Year 7, Bronte McCann, Year 8, and Connor Clark, Year 9, are members of Opera North Young Voices.  The ensemble presented Songs and Scenes, a concert based on a Shakespearian theme.  Our pupils performed scenes from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet and Twelfth Night.  The musical numbers were based on Opera North’s recent touring production of the hit musical Kiss Me Kate.  The three also took to the stage at Leeds Town Hall in May for Berlioz’s Damnation of Faust, a work for four solo voices, full seven-part chorus, large children's chorus and orchestra.  All three attend weekly rehearsals at Yorkshire Dance in St Peter’s Square, Leeds.
