Parents must register their secondary school preferences online with the education authority between 1 August and 31 October by going to www.leeds.gov.uk/admissions.
Please make sure you list Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School as one of your preferences.
You must also complete the Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School supplementary information form (SIF). Please send the SIF to Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School by 31 October 2022 (For Year 7 entry September 2023).

Admissions outside the normal admission round: Applications should be made online via the Leeds City Council website by going to www.leeds.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-admissions/before-you-move-schools. You should also complete a supplementary information form if you would like your application to be considered in a specific over-subscription category.
If there is more than one application for an available space the admission authority of the school (the school’s governing body) will make their decision using the oversubscription criteria listed in the school’s admission policy. Unsuccessful applications will be given reasons related to the oversubscription criteria and will be advised of their rights to appeal the governors’ decision to an independent appeal panel.

We are proud to have a community that strive to meet the aims of our mission statement. For more information about what happens at Cardinal Heenan on a day to day basis please take time to make your way through our website and read our prospectus. We hope that it gives you a flavour of our school.

When there are more applications than places available, priority will always be given to Catholic applicants in accordance with the oversubscription criteria relevant to the particular year group. By applying to this school parents, or carers, are declaring their support for the aims and ethos of the school.

Cardinal Heenan has a comprehensive transition programme. We also facilitate an open day (usually in October) and facilitate times for parent tours during the school day. For more information on any of these please contact the school via email or telephone.

31 October is the deadline for applications for Year 7 Entry the following September. Offers go out on 1st March. All deadlines are set by Leeds City Council, further deadlines (including appeals) can be found here.
