The importance of a smooth transition between primary school and high school cannot be underestimated. Cardinal Heenan provides a comprehensive transition programme which is reviewed each year so that our students enter our community feeling safe, cared for and able to continue to make academic progress.
To Cardinal Heenan, transition isn’t just about making sure the curriculum continues at an appropriate level, but about developing the Catholic Values that have begun to be instilled in our students at home and in their primary education. Our job in transition starts early on in primary with events such as those listed below:

It also allows time for our pastoral team (including Tutors) to begin to build long lasting relationships that will continue to strengthen until the students leave us 5 years later.
