I joined the governing body in 2021 as staff governor. I have worked at the school since 2014 as the library co-ordinator and teacher of English, PSHCE and Study Skills, having previously worked in primary schools in the UK, Spain and South America. I have taken on various roles in school, particularly around staff and student wellbeing. I was a member of the staff committee which looked at the school’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and have organised and been involved in a range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities for students at Cardinal Heenan and our partner schools, including author visits, Duke of Edinburgh Award and debating/public speaking. I have also accompanied students on international trips to France with the PE department and Belgium with the History department. I am committed to ensuring that students access a wide range of experiences throughout their time in school and that they are equipped with the skills they need to become well-rounded, life-long learners when they leave Cardinal Heenan.
I believe that I bring a range of skills to my role as a governor. I have a good understanding of school life from a range of different perspectives and a good understanding of pupil and staff wellbeing, pastoral care as well as experience of working with staff in many departments across the school.
