Ofsted 2023

The school was inspected by Ofsted on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 February 2023.  Please find the Inspection report below: 

Inspectors state that Cardinal Heenan continues to be a good school.  Inspectors recognised that “this is a happy school” in which “the Catholic character and virtues have a strong influence on everything”. Ofsted commented on our “ambitious curriculum for all pupils”, our “high expectations of all pupils”, the “range of opportunities for pupils to learn beyond lessons” and the “high quality programme of careers guidance and advice”. Most importantly, they saw our students as “respectful”, “take pleasure in attending” and “enjoy their learning”. 

Diocese of Leeds 2018

The school was inspected by The Diocese of Leeds on Wednesday 6 June and Thursday 7 June 2018.

Inspectors reviewed and evaluated the Catholic life of the school, religious education and collective worship.  The school was judged to be ‘Good’ in providing Catholic Education.
