J. Rooney

I have recently retired from 16 years working in administration for the NHS, both in a practice and most recently for one of the Leeds Primary Care Networks, a group of 10 practices.

I have spent much of my working life in the science and technology sector, including at the University of Leeds, giving me experience of working in an educational environment. After leaving this employment the job roles I have undertaken have demanded good organisational skills, which are vital in school governance.

I have previously served as a school governor at both St Urban’s Catholic Primary School, firstly as a parent governor and then following on as a foundation governor and at Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School during my children’s time at the school from 2012 – 2018.

I am looking forward to using my previous governance experience, plus the experience I have gained in my working life, along with serving as a magistrate for 10 years, to assist in delivering governance at Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School.
