Student ambassadors from Leeds University’s Modern Languages department

Student ambassadors from Leeds University’s Modern Languages department came into school in February to talk to Year 9 students about further study. They talked about university life as well as focusing on the opportunities, skills and life experiences that modern foreign languages can bring. Ambassadors also shared details about their own journeys with modern foreign languages, giving an insight into their motivation to pursue further study as well as the doors that languages have opened up for them. After the presentation, pupils had the chance to reflect on potential careers using languages and were able to ask any questions about languages at university or any other aspect of the student experience.
