Year 8 Día de los Muertos

Year 8 Día de los Muertos

As part of a cross-curricular project between the Languages and Art departments, Year 8 students have been studying the Mexican Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations. They have explored the symbolism of the brightly coloured ‘calaveras’ used to honour loved ones during the festival and will create their own calaveras during the half term break. As many students choose to create edible calaveras on biscuits and cakes, they ran a bake sale at break time on Tuesday 4 November, raising £97.12 for charity.
