Mr S Vickers

A native of Leeds, I attended the Holy Family Catholic Primary school and Corpus Christ Catholic Secondary school while being a member of the Holy Family parish in West Leeds.

We moved to North Leeds in 1998, looking for schools for our two children, both of primary school age, and chose St. Paul’s in Alwoodley becoming members of St. Paul’s parish, which is now part of St. John Mary Vianney parish. I have been a foundation governor at St. Paul’s since 2003 and Chair at St. Paul’s for four years. I joined the Governing Body of Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School in 2018.

I worked in software development having managed software delivery teams producing both ‘back office’ applications and ‘point of sale’ mobile applications in the electrical wholesale and financial sectors. Currently I am refreshing my skills in application coding with the aim of producing software myself, something I missed when my principle role was to manage the production of software.

Having experienced governance in a primary school, I look forward to understanding the challenges that high school staff experience as they seek to provide the spiritual, emotional, physical and academic awareness and development, that will enable each young member of this community to confidently step into their future.
