I have three daughters who currently attend Cardinal Heenan and Holy Name and I am a member of the Parish of Our Lady of Kirkstall. As well as being a parent at Cardinal Heenan I am also a past pupil, as are many members of my family. I am therefore committed to and invested in the success of the school and ensuring great outcomes for the children. I understand the importance of academic goals, but my main priority is that children are happy, kind, enjoy school and are encouraged to fulfil their potential. As a Parent Governor I strive to ensure that Cardinal Heenan continues to be a place that brings out the best in every student, whilst recognising and celebrating their differences and achievements.
I am a Qualified Solicitor and Manager at Citizens Advice Leeds, responsible for fulfilling contracts that ensure the needs of our community are met. I also lead on research and campaigns with a focus on making a difference to the most vulnerable members of our community. I am willing to learn and to help others to do so. I regularly write funding bids and present reports to stakeholders. I am used to analysing data and looking for solutions, as well as presenting information in a clear, concise and understandable format. I manage multi-disciplinary teams, have experience in supervising volunteers and paid staff and am the Safeguarding Lead. I hope that my experience, alongside my commitment to the children, the school and the community, makes me a valuable Parent Governor.
