Taylor’s of Harrogate Visit

Year 9 students have visited Betty’s and Taylor’s of Harrogate twice during this half term. First, a group of students enjoyed a tour of their production facilities and craft bakery, where they met with staff working in a variety of roles and learnt about the range of careers available in the food industry, as well as ways to improve employability skills.

Then, a group of girls attended a girls’ roundtable event where they discussed the challenges and opportunities for women in business and education. Students represented our school incredibly well and had the chance to ask questions and find out about the experiences of women working in a range of roles in the food industry. They were also able to share their own experiences in education and their aspirations for the future. Students were also invited to talk about their female role models and the ways in which they have inspired them to be the people God calls them to be.
