Last week, we came together as a school community to enjoy Sports Day. As in previous years, tutor groups from Years 7-9 represented different virtues and displayed their team colours with pride.
All students participated in at least 2 events throughout the day, with a wide range of disciplines available to choose from. Sports included team games such as rounders, football and netball; indoor games including chess, Boccia and New Age Kurling; and track and field events including javelin, discus, speed bounce and even welly throwing! When they weren’t competing, students cheered on their teammates and sang along to Mr Hartwell and Mr Tunnecliff on the drums. They also led us in the famous row, inspired by the Norwegian supporters in the World Cup.
After a fantastic day in which students competed incredibly well across all disciplines and gave their all for their teams; eventually Justice came out as the overall winners! Justice won the Year 7 prize, Love won in Year 8 and Justice were victorious in Year 9. Well done to all staff and students who made it such a fantastic celebration of sport!
