At the end of this year, Fr Yemane leaves his post as our Priest Chaplain. He has served our school community incredibly well over the past four years and has built strong links with staff and students through his regular Thursday visits. As well as the significant contribution he has made to masses and services for staff, students and families; Fr Yemane has become a key member of our school community and can often be found sharing lunch, a chat or a game of football with staff and students.
He has accompanied our school group on pilgrimages to Lourdes for the past 3 years and shared his remarkable story with our Year 7 pupils on their Ethos Days. He has also helped to strengthen our links with parishes through regular coffee mornings and deanery meetings, as well as inviting our students to the Eritrean National Feast Day of Our Lady held at Immaculate Heart of Mary in 2024. Everyone at Cardinal Heenan will keep Fr Yemane in our prayers as he embarks on his new role in Huddersfield.
