Discover Articulation Competition 2025

Discover Articulation Competition 2025

Our debating and public speaking team were invited to talk about a piece of art of their choice as part of the University of Leeds’ Arts Outreach competition ‘Discover Articulation’. Designed as a precursor to the National Gallery’s Articulation Prize for Sixth Form students, the competition requires students to submit a 3 minute video about a piece of art of their choice. Rosie in Year 10 chose to speak about the painting of Our Lady of Częstochowa, a painting which has had strong links to the church in Poland for over 600 years and whose history is shrouded in legend. Rosie talked about the iconography and symbolism displayed in the image, as well as explaining its history and the pride it represents for the Polish community.
