Junior Detectives

Four Year 8 students took part in a week of activities at the University of Leeds as part of West Yorkshire Police’s Junior Detectives scheme. As well as giving them valuable insights into a range of roles in law enforcement and criminal justice, the scheme is aimed at reducing knife crime across the city by raising awareness about the consequences of knife crime on individuals, families and communities. Students will share their learning through assemblies in school. Over the week, students interviewed police officers, barristers and judges; learnt about forensics and crime scene investigation; and visited Leeds Crown Court. They also worked with student ambassadors from the University of Leeds.
