Y7/8 Netball v Ralph Thoresby

All netball match reports have been written by Year 9 student, Niamh, who has chosen journalism for the skill section of her Duke of Edinburgh Award. Alongside supporting Miss Goode and Miss Thomas with netball training for younger students, Niamh has attended netball fixtures and written match reports for Veritas.

As we arrived at Ralph Thoresby, the team warmed up with the Year 9/10 team then practised some drills before the first quarter. This new team kept the ball in the attacking third for most of the first quarter. Before we knew it, we were into the second quarter with some great intercepts from the Cardinal Heenan centre and wing defence but the opposition defended tightly too. By the fourth quarter, the team’s energy was still high as they fought for possession of the ball. Final score: 1-0. Player of the match: Belicia.
