Year 8 Leeds City of Languages Taster Day 2025

Year 8 Leeds City of Languages Taster Day 2025

Leeds City of Languages is a vibrant celebration of the city’s languages, cultures, and communities, highlighting our connections with the world.

On Wednesday 19 November, we welcomed Ambre and Marie from the Leeds University Languages department who delivered a fantastic French taster workshop to Mrs Dwyer’s Year 8 class.

The session was really engaging, incorporating a quiz and interactive speaking elements. The Year 8 students were really looking forward to the session and afterwards were asking whether Ambre and Marie would be back again – they clearly enjoyed the novelty factor of having a guest teacher for their language lesson! The Year 8 students were interested in the cultural aspect of the workshop and all learnt something new about France and where French is spoken around the world from our native speaker visitors.
